BUYER RESOURCE
OEM Artwork and Packaging Approval Checklist
OEM errors are often caused by incomplete files or unclear approval responsibility rather than the physical product. Use one revision-controlled checklist to connect the product, artwork, packaging and shipping marks before production.
STEP 01
Separate every artwork surface
List each place where brand or product information appears. A kite logo, pole print, header card, instruction sheet, retail box and master carton are separate production items and may use different processes.
- Product and pole logo
- Retail label or colour box
- Instruction sheet
- Barcode, model label and carton mark
STEP 02
Supply production-ready source files
Vector artwork is normally more suitable for scaling and print preparation than screenshots or compressed website images. Identify fonts, colours and minimum clear space, and provide translations as editable text.
STEP 03
Approve content and placement
The buyer should check spelling, languages, contact details, barcode data, warnings and market claims. The factory confirms manufacturability; the buyer confirms that supplied content is accurate for the destination market.
STEP 04
Record the approved revision
Give every approved proof a date or revision number and ensure the quotation or production specification refers to the same revision. Later changes should create a new approval record.
COMMON BUYER QUESTIONS

Who approves translated instructions?
The buyer should approve the accuracy and destination-market suitability of all supplied language and legal content before production.
Can the barcode be changed after approval?
Any change should create a revised proof and written reapproval before production continues.
